Short answer: Meta’s minimum is roughly ₦2,000 to ₦2,500 a day, plus 7.5% VAT. For campaigns that actually optimise, most Nigerian SMEs need ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 a month in ad spend.
Facebook ads cost in Nigeria is really two questions. What’s the least Meta will let you spend, and what’s the least that gets you real results? The first number is small. The second depends on what you’re asking the ad to do.
The platform minimum
For naira ad accounts, Meta’s daily floor is currently around ₦2,000 to ₦2,500 per ad set, according to Grey’s 2026 breakdown of Facebook ad costs in Nigeria. VAT at 7.5% is added on top, so a ₦100,000 budget costs you ₦107,500. Budget for that from the start.
The practical minimum depends on your goal
Meta’s system learns from results. It needs roughly 50 of your chosen actions (leads, purchases, messages) in about a week to settle. That gives you a quick way to size a budget:
Daily budget = (expected cost per result × 50) ÷ 7
If a lead costs you ₦1,500, that’s about ₦10,700 a day. If a sale costs ₦5,000, you’d need around ₦35,700 a day for the campaign to learn properly. Below that, the ads still run, but results swing wildly and you can’t trust the data.
| Goal | What I’d plan for monthly |
|---|---|
| Awareness or reach | ₦50,000 to ₦150,000 |
| Messages or leads | ₦150,000 to ₦350,000 |
| Online sales | ₦250,000 to ₦500,000+ |
These are starting points, not rules. Your product price, audience size and creative quality all move the real number.
What pushes Facebook ads cost in Nigeria up
- Weak creative. Ads people scroll past cost more per result. Strong video hooks usually bring costs down.
- Tiny audiences. Targeting one small estate with five interests pushes prices up. Give the algorithm room.
- Festive seasons. November and December auctions are crowded, so the same budget buys less.
- No pixel or conversions API. Without tracking, Meta can’t find buyers, only clickers.
Boost post or Ads Manager?
Boosting is fine for quick visibility. For leads or sales, use Ads Manager, where you choose the objective, control placements and see proper reporting. That’s where most of the savings are.
Ad spend isn’t the whole cost
If an agency runs the campaigns, its management fee is separate from what you pay Meta. Always ask for the two figures separately. For a sense of what well-run spend can return, our work with a Nigerian sleepwear brand reached 500% ROAS in the Àlàyò case study.
